Look at who loves me!
Everytime I go out to the barn, I get to see this cute little face. Meet Rudy! He was named this because I was watching one of my favorite inspirational movies when he came into the world!
Luckily I only have to bottle feed him 2 or 3 times a day now as he is eating grain. He is so sweet, one of my many favorites now

A delightful evening at Discovery School!
Here is a picture of my display at the shopping extravaganza last night. Discovery School started my girls education and I taught pre-k there for 5 years before leaving to run my alpaca business. I still sub there which I just love so I can see the teachers, students, and how the school continues to educate through hands on learning and imagination.
Check out the alpaca gift bags with the stuffed alpaca’s head coming out of a hole in the bag. So cute! Everyone loved that! I wanted to take more pictures but ended up chatting the night away with parents and customers so the 3 hours flew by.
I did what usually happens, I bought stuff from other booths but love my early birthday gift! My mother-n-law was going to buy it for my brother-n-laws girlfriend but I really liked it so lets see 28 years with the family vs the new girlfriends 4 months on and off status, Yeah I should pull rank and did! Its in my kitchen right now and officially the first Christmas decoration to go on display for 2010! So, so cute!

A beautiful surprise in the mail
Look at what arrived over the weekend for me! I love this beautiful scarf. Jennifer knitted this for me after meeting her and her lovely family when they toured the alpaca ranch this fall. We had a fun afternoon and at the end of the tour we bartered gloves for her knitting me this scarf. I think I found a knitter for my store! The problem is I really like it and don’t want to sell it but I can’t keep everything. This is made from 100% suri yarn that I bought from a friend of mine who did not like how it turned out. I loved it so bought the whole batch from her.
Very pretty and Jennifer recommended knitting with wood or bamboo needles. She said the yarn is so silky it slides off the metal or plastic too easily and stitches could be dropped.
Thanks Jennifer, you did an awesome job on this and will be sending more alpaca yarn for you to create your magic with!

My newest creation inspired by many of you of there!!
Ok, I am venturing out again, in large part thanks to many of you in the alpaca world and readers. I made these adorable Christmas ornaments and have been truely humbled by the response I have gotten about how cute and beautiful they are. Best form of flattery is hearing that “”awwww that is so cute”. I am going to be putting them on etsy here shortly in large part to the support and encouragement of others(thanks Jody!) Each one is special and created with a particular woman in mind who has been influential, supportive, and ecouraged me to make this alpaca adventure work! Will your name be on one of my ornaments that I am crafting, stay tuned. You might be surprised!
I will let you know once I have them posted on Etsy, which will be another big adventure for me as I continually step out of my comfort box!

Packing right now for the Carolina Alpaca Celebration Show in Concord, North Carolina the weekend of the 13th and 14th. I am speaking at the show on alpaca fiber. The title is Alpaca Fiber – Innovation, Motivation, and Education. Was hoping to leave my cold snowy farm and head into some warmer weather but not so much. Weather says 40 degrees!! Won’t get to work on fiber this Friday as we will be driving but I am taking my felting tools and will felt some ornaments in the car so that will have to do. Will let you know how the show goes so stay tuned!

Fleeces-to-Go blog has started, read and follow along!
Hello to my current and new followers, my name is Holli and I will be posting my thoughts, tips, advice, and notes about alpaca fiber through my Fleeces-to-Go connection. Alpaca fiber is unique, exquisite, warm, soft, and as special as the alpaca itself. I will be blogging as I work on projects, skirting(cleaning) show blankets for competition, and especially on Fridays as that is called my personal Fiber Fridays! I work primarily on fiber all day. Gives me something wonderful to look forward to every week! So come along with me and I hope you enjoy my journey with alpaca fiber!
